Work life as Director of International Trainer for Global Rights for Women, consultant, trainer, and writer

Melissa Petrangelo Scaia is the Director of International Training at Global Rights for Women (GRW).  She has provided local, national, and international trainings on the following topics:
  • Coordinated Community Responses (CCR) to violence against women
  • Development and program enhancement of batterers intervention programs
  • Coordinated Community Responses (CCR) to women’s use of violence in intimate partner relationships
  • Development and program enhancement of women’s advocacy programs
  • Institutional advocacy and reform to address human service and child welfare response to violence against women
  • Development and program enhancement of addressing children’s exposure to domestic violence
  • Coordinated Community Responses (CCR) to sexual violence
  • Development and program enhancement of addressing parenting with men who batter
  • Expert witness testimony in criminal domestic violence trials

Melissa is also the author of a number of written publications on violence against women and is currently writing two books on the subject - one about her mother's childhood of violence and the other to help women better understand why the men who say they love them, hurt them.
