,My mom Joanne Petrangelo died too young at the age of 62. She was an amazing cook. She also loved making birthday cakes. Celebrating birthdays was a REALLY big deal to her. She made everyone feel so special on their birthday. Her favorite cookbook was her Halloween themed cook book. Her Halloween party included many ghoulish but tasty items. She especially loved to make “finger cookies” for Halloween. When you stopped at her house for trick or treating it always included homemade Halloween baked goods. As a lasting legacy to her cooking, three of her closest scrapbooking friends, Deana Bothma, Lisa Maasch and Lori Flohaug, made over 100 photo copies of her 12 favorite recipes at her funeral on July 22, 2017 in St. Leo's Hall. They made the recipes into a beautiful packet with some of her scrapbook ribbon. For those who did not get them, I posted them here:
Chicken Oriental Salad,
Pistachio Dessert,
Sweet Chocolate Cake,
Pheasant (Chicken) Cacciatore,
Danielle's (Poppy Seed) Salad,
French Toast Bake,
Turkey Cranberry Wreath,
HHS Sloppy Joes,
Pumpkin Bars,
Souvlaki Pork, and
Walnut Cheese Sticks.
We would love for Joanne’s legacy to continue through her favorite recipes in your home! (NOTE: Many of these recipes came from her family members and friends. We gave them credit for that on the recipes. Know that you are making their favorite dishes as well!)
