WHY DOES HE HURT ME?: HELPING WOMEN UNDERSTAND WHY THEIR PARTNERS ARE VIOLENT AND ABUSIVE

Melissa Petrangelo Scaia and Lori Stavnes have worked as advocates for victims of domestic violence and as facilitators in non-violence programs for male domestic violence offenders. In their work as advocates, many women would would ask them, "Why does he say he loves me but also hurts me?" Melissa and Lori have taken what they have learned as a facilitator in a domestic violence offender program to help women who are abused and the advocates who help them to them better understand why men hurt women they say they love.
non-TRANSFERABLE ON DA RANGE: A MEMOIR here to edit.

Writing numerous Caring Bridge posts for my mother Joanne Petrangelo from 2016 - 2017 during her struggle with lung cancer has inspired me to write my first book. It will be called, "Non-Transferable on Da Range: A Memoir". It is a metaphor for how she never transferred her childhood of violence and abuse onto her children, husband or anyone else. The tone of the book with have a mixture of humorous tales, my mother's childhood experience and life lessons she lived by. The anticipated release date is July 2022.
Joanne Ellen Petrangelo died on July 17, 2017 at the young age of 62 after a one year long battle with lung cancer.
