Fall League 2020 Range Sports Stars Softball

During the fall of 2020, COVID-19 was still affecting Minnesota. As the school year approached, the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) made the decision to delay the volleyball and football seasons. With this delay, many young women found themselves having additional time during the fall. Four players from the Iron Range were asked to play on a fall softball league team - Mirabella Scaia, Lindsay Racine, Claire Vekich, and Lindsay Tulla. They played softball with players from Esko, Cloquet, and Proctor. The fall league games are every Sunday from mid-August to mid-October in Chisago Lake, MN. Range Sports Stars softball team 2020

During the 2020 summer, COVID-19 was affecting the health and well-being of the world. The Range Sports Stars were unsure if they were going to have a season. The Governor of Minnesota decided to allow for limited outdoor sports. The players and coaches were very excited, especially since the spring high school softball season was cancelled. Todd Scaia, Greg Tulla, Jen Boben and Shawn Racine were the coaches. They put together a team of softball players from all over the Iron Range - Chisholm, Hibbing, Greenway, Grand Rapids, Nashwauk, Keewatin and Proctor. Click here to see the photos of their games.

ROCK FOR AN ANGEL FUNSPIEL 2020
The "Rock for an Angel" Funspiel was February 8, 2020. Melissa Scaia volunteered to take photos again this year. This event always reminds Melissa of her mother, who passed away of lung cancer in 2017. In addition, it was a time to reflect on the passing of her aunt Debbie Edmonds as well (seen in this photo in a previous year), her Uncle Garry Edmonds, and most recently her Aunt Suzanne Edmonds. Melissa is grateful for the help and support that the Angel Fund provided to her mom and other family members.. It was so much fun to share this event with those who support the Angel Fund. assumption catholic school golf fundraiser
Melissa recently volunteered to take photos at the Assumption Catholic School Golf Fundraiser at the Mesaba Country Club in Hibbing. All photos are free to participants. You can download them, screenshot them and use them as you would like to. The Assumption Catholic School provides a Catholic elementary school education to children in Pre-Kindergarten - 6th grade in Hibbing, MN. Melissa's two children attended Assumption Catholic School. Central Mesabi Medical Foundation Golf Fundraiser
In July of 2018 Melissa took photos as a volunteer at the Central Mesabi Medical Foundation golf fundraiser. rock for an angel 2018

This year was harder for Melissa to be there since her mom, Joanne Petrangelo (in photo to the left) passed away of cancer this past summer. Melissa is grateful for the help and support that the Angel Fund provided to her mom. It was so much fun to share this event with those who support the Angel Fund. Rock for an Angel 2017
The "Rock for An Angel" Funspiel was held on 2/11/17 at the Hibbing Curling Club. I volunteered to take photos at the event. I am very grateful for the help and support that the Angel Fund provided to my mother Joanne Petrangelo in her time of need. I was happy to volunteer at this fun and charitable event!
