ABOUT MELISSA (PETRANGELO) SCAIA

Melissa Petrangelo Scaia has lived most of her life on the Iron Range. She grew up in Chisholm, MN and chose to raise her family here because her foundation and commitment is to the Iron Range. She started her career on the Iron Range in the non-profit sector in 1999. She has done local, national, and international work to train communities and governments on domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking. She also worked directly on a number of federal, state, and policy initiatives that benefited our area, including the Hibbing Coalition for Safe and Accountable Schools. Currently, she is the Director of International Training at Global Rights for Women. She is motivated to provide leadership, action and vision to makes our communities on the Iron Range a great place to live, work, and play.
